They are displayed standing on the toes facing another set of unaltered male shoe horns— a closeup of a couple’s feet during a kiss. The piece touches on walking in each others shoes, being flexible with one another, fitting the mold, etc.
I like to work with found objects, allowing their established meaning and symbolism to play a part in the finished, reworked piece. This piece was done for a life-casting assignment in Sculpture I. It was my first attempt at body-casting and was quite successful.
